The best oatmeal
by LAB on 1/16/2009
By far the best oatmeal diet product out there. Not too sweet and a perfect consistency.
The "Maple Brown Sugar" flavor is GREAT!!!!
by Mich on 3/14/2009
I just received my boxes of the BariWise Oatmeal I ordered. It's fantastic. I really like all the Wonderslim products - but in this case - I actually like the BariWise oatmeal better. The texture is smoother & creamier. I will reorder this again after I finish up these 4 boxes. Great product!!! YUMMY!!!
Good Product...Would Def. Recommend
by SouthernBoy on 3/26/2009
If you like Oatmeal this is Def. a good product. Impressed with the Maple and Brown Sugar. Have one every morning. This and a slice of Low Carb/Low Calorie Wheat Bread or a few slices of Apples with No Skin make for a good Breakfast.
Nice taste.
by Margie on 3/12/2010
Nice size serving. I love the taste. I will be ordering it again for sure.
I love it
by Debra on 4/19/2010
I love this it is as good as any non diet Oatmeal!!!
Great little supplement
by Sharpeilover on 1/16/2011
I order the apple and cinnamon, and the taste is very good. I add 1/2 TBS. of lite butter and also lite salt. I only wish there was more.
Reallly good!
by furcoat on 1/24/2011
This is the best instant oatmeal I've had, that includes the regular supermarket kinds. So satisfying too.
Love this oatmeal
by kawasakigrl71 on 6/18/2011
I love this oatmeal, some would say it has a strange consistency, however I really enjoy it. I order it for the entire month, And now that the hubby is retiring, we are traveling in the RV and its a fast quick way of breakfast protein.

Very good. Enjoyed every morning.
Excellent!
by desert sky on 9/4/2011
Excellent product. Tastes great! Some are too "sweet" but this is perfect.
Satisfying and delicious
by judy on 1/1/2012
I eat this oatmeal almost every day, sometimes for dinner. To make the oatmeal more hearty for me (I'm an active dog groomer), I add a hand full of quick oats and one cup of warm water. I cook approx 2-1/2 minutes.
Awesome low carb oatmeal
by Jennifer on 1/23/2012
I received a free sample of the maple and brown sugar oatmeal with my WS order. OMG, it is soooo good, and has lower carbs then the WS oatmeal. As soon as I finish the WS oatmeal, I will be ordering this kind instead to save more carbs!
Yummy
by moorenm on 2/11/2012
I don't know what some of those other reviews are talking about--this is a great product! To make it even better, throw on a little cinnamon and allspice.
Love it very tasteful and satisfying
by tmj on 3/4/2012
very tasteful, great texture, I eat with my low carb soy crisps or low carb wraps with butter and splenda brown sugar. Give some stomach discomfort by end of day bloated but found be-no pills to combat that effect.
Filling breakfast
by mellowfuzz on 11/11/2009
I liked all of the flavors, but I especially like the regular flavor with a spoonful of low sugar strawberry jam stirred in. These keep me full for hours.
Excellent
by Ann Marie on 11/13/2009
this is the best! I actually add more water than they suggest because it helps plump up the dried apples. Definitely a keeper.
Great way to start the day
by Fay on 10/10/2010
I truly love this product. The serving size is small but it keeps you satisfied until late morning. I like the taste, the texture could be better, but overall I am very pleased with this product.
My winter go to!
by kleeb on 3/8/2011
I have recommended this to friends and they have loved it too! Easy, quick, great for breakfast or a warm you up snack
Maple & Brown sugar oatmeal
by Traecy on 8/30/2012
I love this. It's my favorite breakfast. I eat it twice a day EVERY day. Keeps me full and It's just the right amount as I am 2 years post op from RNY (Updated on 4/2/2011.)
Enjoy this!
by teresa on 4/8/2011
I like to make 2 packages. I like mine sweeter so I add sugar free brown sugar cinnamon syrup and some brown sugar splenda. The maple is my fav, but I enjoy the apple one and even have mixed one of each. I use a little less water and then add the syrup.
good eats!
by bubblesbgood on 6/26/2011
These little packets are great to take to work with trying to get myself done as well as my kid and get to work on time I was not eating breakfast at all. I take the packet with me, just add hot water and voila! A protein packed, good tasting, breakfast!
I enjoy eating my hot oatmeal and especially now since it winter.
by Miss. Sharon on 8/30/2012
It's light and filling. I've always enjoyed eating oatmeal and on my diet I can continue my mornings with my apple/cinnamon oatmeal. Great product.
Great Way to Start The Day
by William on 2/2/2012
I start each day with the Maple and brown sugar oatmeal. It's satisfying and keeps me sticking to my daily caloric intake. I will reorder every time.
Love this stuff!
by helen on 3/2/2012
I love this oatmeal. I mix a little regular oatmeal into it to give it more body and its great.
Yummy
by llilacs on 5/10/2012
I have only had the maple/brown sugar flavor, but I loved it. Tasted pretty much like the non-diety instant stuff. The only complaint I have is the serving is SMALL. Even with gastric bypass it's really meager! I will order again, though. As a snack it's great.
My favorite breakfast
by KathyH on 8/30/2012
I've only tried the regular flavor, but I find it plenty tasty. As others have noted, one packet makes a pretty small serving. It would have been more than enough in the first year following my RNY surgery, but several years post-surgery, I prefer two servings prepared with a little extra Splenda (it already contains sucralose) and two Tbs. of skim milk (in addition to the water.). The best thing is how filling it is. Last month my doctor ordered a fasting blood draw. Unfortunately, I knew I couldn't get to the lab until after lunch time. I ate my two packets of oatmeal at midnight, went to bed and awoke at my usual time, and easily managed to fast until 2:00 the following afternoon --- without feeling hungry!
I really love this oatmeal
by mimij on 8/30/2012
Love this oatmeal
by Chris on 9/7/2012
I have this everyday for breakfast. I mix it with skim milk (extra protein), a snack size box of raisins and pumpkin pie spice.
Delicious!
by Cheryl on 9/16/2012
From the moment I tried it I loved it! I eat it every morning and wouldn't start my day without it.
Love the taste and fils you up
by April on 2/22/2013
The Peaches & Cream is by far my favorite oatmeal. It has great taste and fills you up.
Very Tasty
by marie on 9/19/2013
Decided to try this - loved the peach flavor - I do not heat my oatmeal - just add cold water - good to go! Will order again -
peaches and cream rocks!
by Gayle on 12/1/2013
This oatmeal is great! I like the apple and cinnamon too, but peach is my favorite. Definitely suggest microwave prep over boiling water method for the best texture. The portion is a bit smaller. If I am having it as a snack, a pouch is fine if I am having it for breakfast, I usually mix 2. But even with 2, it is only 180 calories and a whopping 30 grams of protein! For a little extra richness and flavor, after prepared (2 pouches) I stir in 1 TBL. Sugar free/fat free French vanilla coffee creamer. YUMMY!
Low Calories But High Protein and Taste!
by Cindy on 6/7/2016
I LOVE the Bariwise oatmeals. At first I thought the texture was odd, but now I love how thick it is. It mixes great with blueberries, raspberries, peaches, apricots...especially the peach flavor. You could add extra cinnamon and apples to the apple cinnamon if you like. I really enjoy the maple and brown sugar without any additives. I've not tried the unflavored/regular oatmeal but plan to. I'm happy to have found a low calorie, low carb, and yet high protein meal. Sometimes I even crave this oatmeal for dinner.
Excellent
by Crystal on 2/24/2018
Overall both the hubs and I love the foods offered here. We have never been disappointed.

If I just review this oatmeal, it is excellent. I use slightly less water than suggested and typically use the water from our Keurig so its piping hot. Never had a consistency issue with it being too thin or runny.
I give this oatmeal five stars.

We love the cereal, oatmeal, omelets, bars, and soups.

And the customer service is beyond amazing!
Oatmeals are good - maple brown sugar - very good
by MAS on 6/16/2009
I recommend the Oatmeals - the Maple Brown Sugar is the best. The Apple Cinnamon is OK also, but can be a bit chewy - so add a little more water if you need to. The portions are a tad small, so adding 2 slices of diet toast (80 - 90 calories) with a low calorie spread makes a very satisfying and low calorie meal.
GREAT!!
by lost169lbs on 11/22/2009
This oatmeal is a great filler when you need a carb fix. I add splenda and apple pie spices and light butter and it's GREAT!! Sometimes I have it for breakfast. Sometimes it's a late night snack. It is great anytime of the day. Of course this isn't the best of the oatmeals but it Is the lowest calorie, lowest carb version
Nice on a cold day
by Yooper on 11/28/2009
I like the maple and brown sugar flavor. It is not quite the texture of regular oatmeal, but it fills me up and sticks with me. I like it on a cold day. I'll add a serving of fruit to it and I can go for quite a while without getting hungry. It'a nice change from the breakfast shakes.
Apple & Cinnamon Oatmeal
by JBreaux on 10/10/2010
I absolutely love the oatmeal. It has a great taste and small bits of apple.
Good
by Teresa on 5/15/2011
I enjoy this product. I cook it a little longer (big dish or it boils over) than it says. I some times make 2 packets (I am 1 year post-op) or I make one packet and add some Quaker Oats and unflavored protein powder. I like mine sweet so I add some sugar free brown sugar cinn syrup YUM!! I also will mix the flavors.
Great way to start your day!
by Cindy on 11/21/2011
Great way to start your day! Fulfilling and tasty. Love the maple flavor!
maple brown sugar flavor
by Cari on 10/10/2008
I just tried the maple brown sugar flavor. I thought it was very good. The texture was a little runny, but I let it sit about a minute after I got it out of the microwave and it thickened up nicely. I thought it tasted great...like oatmeal but not quite as sweet as the real stuff... but I liked that about it. Perfect serving size for postop RNY patients. It filled me up nicely, and an hour later I'm still feeling quite full but not uncomfortable. I've bought the apple cinnamon too. Can't wait to try that one tomorrow morning! I'll definitely buy it again.

I prefer making mine with skim milk
by Melissa on 8/30/2012
I ordered a sample of the Maple & Brown Sugar. I prefer making mine with skim milk instead of water. (I add a little extra milk too because I like mine more runny) This didn't have a lot of flavor, but I added some cinnamon & a packet of splenda and it was pretty good. Another good way to add protein to your diet.

Small but good
by fin on 8/30/2012
The oatmeal is a small serving but tastes good. Be careful not to add too much water because it wont thicken up then and is more like a drink. I would add less water if anything.
Perfect for RNY bariatric patients!
by Holly on 10/6/2010
This is definitely great for post-op RNY bariatric patients like myself. I am 5 months out of surgery and this is the PERFECT serving size. I had the maple sugar oatmeal this morning and it was great. Filled me right up (in a good way, not that overstuffed feeling we post-op patients can sometimes get!). The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars was because it wasn't quite sweet enough for me. Next time I will probably add a packet of splenda and it will be perfect! (Updated on 10/7/2010.)
TASTY
by Mike I on 2/20/2011
Tasty and enjoyable . The serving is small and sometimes I get hungry a few hours later.

Great to use when traveling . I just packed 21 serving into my suitcase for a trip to the West coast. Keeps me from straying too far off of my daily routine while I am away.
High Protein Breakfast
by amberd910 on 7/5/2011
I was looking for something "different" for breakfast. I am tired of the same old thing and I'm not a breakfast person to begin with. I wanted something high protein. I tried the Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal. I like the fact I pop in the microwave a measuring cup of water, boil in 25 seconds, and viola, breakfast is ready. The serving size is a little on the small side, so some nice fruit would compliment the breakfast. At first it has an "off" taste, but after about 3 bites you are used to it. It's not a bad flavor, just different. You can really taste the maple and brown sugar. I will def be purchasing this again.
Pretty good
by on 8/30/2012
Typical good tasting protein oatmeal!!!
Good breakfast
by buddutty on 9/28/2011
Was not sure about ordering this. Was thinking that it would not be tasty, but found that it was quite enjoyable and was a good pick. I would order this again.
Give It A Try
by nansniez on 4/25/2012
It's not the "name-brand" but after a packet or two you get used to it. It helps me get to my protein goal. I like the apple-cinnamon the best.
A good breakfast option
by Micah on 5/8/2012
I ordered the BariWise Maple and Brown Sugar oatmeal after weight-loss surgery as an alternative to the nasty protein shakes I was so tired of drinking. Preparation is super-quick and easy and portion size is perfect! The texture of this oatmeal is somewhat lacking, but it's such a small portion that it doesn't really bother me. If it does bother you, I think you could mix in some sturdier oats - I just haven't. The taste is slightly sweet but not overwhelmingly so. A welcome change from the nasty protein shakes I am so accustomed to drinking. Will be ordering again! Great option to have!
This is good!
by Onnit on 10/25/2015
Now that the weather is turning cooler, this is a great addition to my limited breakfast. The peach taste is great but the texture is a little different than what I'm used to. I make my own chunky applesauce, only apples and cinnamon, so I add 1/4 cup of applesauce to this. The flavor is great and it makes it a little more chunky. Good stuff!
Nice option when you are sick of eggs.
by cangreja on 2/16/2011
You know that scene in The Matrix where they are feeding Neo (Keanu Reeves) the unappealing mushy stuff out of the pipe that consists of all the amino acids and stuff that a body needs? This is it.

It tastes okay, but lets face it, it is difficult to make something that is 100% carb into a protein rich food without it having an odd wet, slightly spongy consistency.

However, that being said, when you are on a Low Carb diet and are SICK SICK SICK of eggs for breakfast, then have one of these for a couple of days. It is a nice change. The flavors are good, it is just the consistency that will get you.
Yes and no...
by Cecelia Eileen on 1/8/2012
This is OK with me, it gives you the protein but the taste and texture leave something to be desired. I make "real" oatmeal in advance and mix it with this for a tolerable high protein breakfast.
Tastes okay - texture so-so
by Grisaille on 8/30/2012
I have only tried the Maple-Brown Sugar and the taste was fine but the texture was mushy and just not quite right. I have wondered about mixing with a pack of regular oatmeal to stiffen it up. And I do agree the portion is really small but I am in my first year post-bariatric surgery so it is plenty at the moment.
not as good as others
by Dawna on 4/5/2013
not horrible, but the flavor is a bit bland for me.
OK
by sandra on 1/23/2014
the peaches and cream has good flavor but is very thin, I was not sure it was actually oatmeal. No grain texture, more like baby food
Bland & Mushy
by KatO on 3/5/2011
I was truly wanting to love this oatmeal but it didn't have much flavor and was very mushy. My hubby who loves oatmeal didn't like it either. (Updated on 3/6/2011.)
Not a big fan
by LDominick on 4/19/2011
I tried the oatmeal thinking it would be a quick and good breakfast and the BariWise products are normally my favorite. I didn't like the consistency at all, like a paste instead of oatmeal. I'm not a fan.
Did not like this one
by Love it in WV on 2/8/2012
Sorry, did not enjoy this product at all. It just didn't suit my taste buds at all. Would not buy it again.
Not Thrilled
by New Me on 9/13/2012
This was just "Alright." I really can't say I was overly impressed. The cost compared to the flavor just wasn't worth it for me.
least favorite
by RACHEL on 1/20/2018
my least favorite flavor of all the protein oatmeals; too sweet and has a funny taste the others don't

Used to be delicious
by Sue on 7/8/2009
For 6 months I'd been eating the apple cinnamon and loving it - almost my favorite food. Then lately something changed. The consistency is now like mush and it is just nasty. The numbers on the fronts of the packs starting with 20804 are nothing like the last batch I ordered. Anyone else having issues with this? Maybe we can get them to change it back. Very disappointed. :(
Did they change the recipe???
by Viv on 8/2/2009
Like the previous reviewer I used to buy and love this product but it seems that they changed the recipethis product does not taste at all as it used tohad to throw away 3 boxes because theres no way I can eat it
Not a fan
by SC, RD, LDN on 11/8/2009
I could only tolerate eating what I'd ordered by using milk instead of water and by adding nutmeg, cinnamon, splenda, and equal to the maple and brown sugar flavor. I really love quaker oats b. sug and cinnamon and would love to replace it with a higher protein brand.
Not so great
by Laurie on 3/2/2010
I must have received one of the bad boxes of maple brown sugar. It has a strange nonfood taste to it, and I was really hoping to like it.
Bitter after taste
by Faerychic on 5/13/2010
The initial taste and consistency is not bad but I have a bitter after taste left in my mouth. I finished eating 30 minutes ago and still have the bitterness in my mouth. I have tried the maple brown sugar twice with the same after taste. I did not notice it so much with the apple cinnamon.
If you like barium.....
by LovesChips on 1/25/2011
I wanted variety in my breakfast, and I ordered the maple and brown sugar flavor. OMG, that was a big mistake. This stuff tastes like watered down chalk or the paste we used to make with flour and water as kids. YUCK! I will stick to the WonderSlim apple and cinnamon that is awesome!
Artificially sweet tasting, couldn't hack it
by RockyMtnFae on 10/18/2011
I really wanted to like this and toughed it out through the first three packets, hoping I would get used to the fake sweet taste, but it got worse instead of better. I am throwing the other four away and looking for something with no sweetener at all. I tried to give it no stars, but they make reviewers give it at least one, probably in case we forgot to award stars at all. Even though it states poor, one star is a lie, really. They need to put a selection of "deliberately zero stars" we would have to select to make sure we didn't just forget to select!
Has a stale taste
by mwhite on 10/31/2011
I received a sample of this oatmeal. I like the WS oatmeal, has a rustic texture. This oatmeal would be ok if it did not have such a stale taste to it. It's more like a thin oatmeal, and I would buy this because I really want a lower carb oatmeal, however, if that stale taste is what I can expect, I am going to have to pass on this one.
Hard to take!
by Fani on 11/19/2011
This isn't oatmeal; it's slimy stuff that will overflow the bowl if you don't keep an eye on the microwave. I mix it with a pkg of real instant oatmeal and it works. I suppose I'm negating the diet this way, but I truly love oatmeal and feel that the protein available in this product is important to make my mornings easier.
Bland
by DONNA SKELTON on 8/30/2012
this had a pasty texture and was a very bland taste.

Not a favorite
by BEJ on 3/31/2009
I have been really happy with every product I have tried but this one.

It just didn't taste right and it was hard to get the consistency right with the added protein.
Gross
by KD on 10/14/2011
I got a sample of the apple cinnamon and it was no good. The chunks of apple tastes like plastic pieces and the oatmeal was way too thick. I would like to try the other flavors, but this one was bad enough that I will probably try it in another brand.
disgusting by itself
by Meltingaway on 2/27/2013
This was so gross. Smells wonderful. Taste like paste. With the texture of paste as well. I was trying to figure out how to salvage the rest of the box. I mixed one pack with one Wonderslim pack of oatmeal, and that did the trick. I was able to eat it and the 2pks together were still with in my 30 carbs per a 2 hr period. Still had balanced proteins as well. Will not purchase again. Lesson learned.
Nasty
by Leona on 5/2/2013
This oatmeal has the taste and texture of wallpaper paste. It even smells bad. Sent it back. I would not order it again.
DISAPPOINTED IN
by Connie on 8/16/2013
VERY STICKY
Awful!
by Misty on 12/3/2014
Horrible!
While the flavor wasn't bad, the consistency of this oatmeal was not good for me. It actually made me ill... I've been very sensitive since surgery though, and that could be why.
Pick a different flavor
by Becca on 6/16/2015
Unfortunately not all the BariWise oatmeal products are equal. The Apples & Cinnamon and Maple & Brown Sugar are great. Yet this one, Peaches & Cream, has a pasty texture and lacks flavor.
Over all this was a disappointing purchase.

flavor is "off"
by Jennifer on 6/3/2017
I'm not kidding - flavor is "off" and has a slightly sour hint. Added with the texture, it's like you're trying to re-choke down some vomit. Stick with the Maple & Brown Sugar flavor. It's great!
