This is good! It IS a bit sour. I suggest to add another 1/4 cup of water than what it calls for (3/4c...so 1 cup total) and add about 1 Tbsp. of Sugar Free Ketchup. Wow! Very Good!

I bought this once when the recipe was different. It had larger soy chunks then and was pretty tasty - good for a cold winter meal.
Its good flavor prompted me to buy several more boxes. What a mistake! They've changed the recipe. The gravy is now almost grey, the tiny specks of soy are unappetizing, the unnaturally perfect cubes of "potato" look suspicious. All in all, better to buy that dog food that makes its own gravy. Some of Proti-Diet's entrees are excellent. Sorry guys, this is not one of them.

To be honest I wasn't crazy about the taste of this one. I can eat it but really not a fan. Of course someone else might say its great. We all have different tastes I guess. This one just isn't for me. I found the taste a little dull.

Not bad if you need a beef stew fix

It's not and will never be Dinty Moore or any other of those guilty-pleasure canned beef stews, but on balance, I'd definitely order it again. Cooking it on the stove-top helped satisfy my frustrated cook/chef jones (the microwave just has no style, you know?) The first time I tried the stew, I worried about the lukewarm reviews, and over-doctored it with worcestershire sauce--that really wasn't very good. The second time I made it I tried it straight--no added spices--and it was quite a bit better. Lesson: don't add worcestershire sauce.
The sauce thickens up nicely, and the faux-meat soy crumbles make an acceptable facsimile for ground beef. If you can't stand the thought of another serving of the thin diet protein soups, this will provide a welcome change of pace.

I tried 1 box this time & really like it. Its very filling for a lunch. I added a beef bouillon to mine as I always use more water than stated so that I can get a nice size bowl out of it. I really like this soup.

I purchase because of the good reviews, it did not look at all like the picture. I tried one mouth full and dump it out, just did not like it at all. I was hopeful, thought it would be great maybe with extra veggies, this one is going back, to try something else.

Happily Surprised

Really surprised. When I opened the packet for the first time, I was skeptical. However, I continued to make it like I always make any of the entrees - ON THE STOVE. I try not to use the microwave if I can. As I was cooking it on the stove (takes only 5 minutes), I thought I would add 1/4 cup of frozen mixed veggies and cook those with it. I smelled it and knew I would need to add some herbs and spices, so I added some thyme, cayenne, and parsley. It was really good and hearty. This will be one of my favorites when I'm hungry for something truly satisfying. I may add other herbs or spices in the future, to change it up a bit, like onion, garlic, sage, etc.
