New Year's Resolutions? Goal Setting: Get SMART!

Making New Year's resolutions?
If this year's list looks like last year's, then listen up.

Whether you want to lose weight or learn to tango, successful change begins with effective goal setting! Winners set SMART goals:

Specific. A specific goal requires a clear outcome and a time frame. "I plan to lose 30 pounds by the summer" is far more likely to be accomplished than "I need to lose weight."

Measurable. Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward your goal. Monitoring your weight loss will keep you on track to meet your target date.

Achievable. When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to develop the attitudes, abilities, skills and financial capacity to reach them. You see yourself as worthy of these goals.

Realistic. A goal must represent an objective that you are both willing and able to tackle. A goal can be both high and realistic as long as you truly believe
it can be accomplished.

Tangible. A goal is tangible when you can physically experience it in some way. Tangible goals are more specific and measurable - and thus attainable!
